ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Publication of over one hundred refereed papers and major reports in high-latitude oceanography, limnology, and hydrology, with emphasis on the role of the physical environment in biological and geochemical systems.  Leadership in community-based stream restoration projects.

            University affiliation as Adjunct Professor at the University of Victoria and McGill University, and an Honorary Research Associate at the University of British Columbia.   

 

Participation in over fifty field missions including oceanographic cruises to the Antarctic and Arctic; and interdisciplinary limnology and hydrology programs in western Canada and Siberia. Responsibilities include: Chief Canadian Scientist for the Canada/U.S. 1994 Arctic Ocean Section, for the Canada/Russia 1990-94 International North Pacific Climate Program and for the Canada/U.S. 1997/98 SHEBA/JOIS arctic program.
